Thank you for joining us on World Theatre Day!

Thank you to all of those that joined us on World Theatre Day at the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatres – a chance for our performing arts communities to gather, celebrate, and sneak a peek at what will be the future home of the museum. We look forward to hosting more community-focused events in the future.

A special thank you goes out to all of our guest speakers, including Canadian Ambassador for World Theatre Day, Jani Lauzon and Toronto Mayor, Olivia Chow.

Thank you Mayor Chow for speaking on the important role the arts plays in our city and the growing need for spaces for artists to feel a sense of belonging.

“Our city needs the arts. It helps us grow and define who we are to the world” said Olivia Chow, Toronto Mayor. “We also need to learn from our pioneers. History has important lessons for our future”

In Memoriam: Graham Greene, C.M.

Canada’s Theatre Museum mourns the loss of actor Graham Greene, a member of the museum’s Advisory Circle who contributed so much to our stages, and was so generous with his time. In 2022, Graham joined R.H. Thomson for an in-depth and frank conversation about his life on stage as part of the museum’s online Legend Library project.
